Decision safeguards

1. Separate review and decision. The reviewer assesses the evidence; a different authorised person makes the accreditation decision.
2. Declare conflicts. Reviewers and decision-makers disclose employment, financial, family and consulting relationships. A person with a material conflict does not handle that application.
3. No success-based fees. Fees and remuneration are not conditional on an award. Paid consulting must not influence an accreditation decision.
4. Record the reasoning. Retain the assessed framework version, evidence references, findings, corrections and signed decision.
5. Provide independent reconsideration. An appeal is handled by a competent person not involved in the original review or decision.

Reporting and review

The accountable body reviews consistency, complaints, material conflicts and standards at least annually. Reviewers and decision-makers have defined responsibilities. Advisers and cooperation partners do not receive decision-making authority through their association with CQASE.
